Memorial Day Parade and Ceremonies The Bedford Veterans Memorial Day Parade Committee will sponsor the Memorial Day ceremonies for Bedford, Bedford Heights, Walton Hills, and Oakwood Village on Monday, May 28, 2018 beginning at 10:15 a.m. The Parade begins at Bedford City Hall, 165 Center Road. Ceremonies will be held at Bedford Public Square on Broadway and conclude at the Bedford Cemetery on Broadway. The speaker will be Brigadier General Thomas Luczynski (Ret.). He trained and served as an Airborne Ranger and advisor for a Vietnamese Ranger Battalion from May 1970 to May 1971. Upon returning from Vietnam, he completed Army Aviator Training. Exterior Residential Permit Fees Waived During the month of June, the City’s Building Department will be waiving the residential building permit fees associated with exterior improvements for owner occupied singlefamily dwellings!   Those wishing to tackle some much needed exterior home improvements will still need to obtain the required approvals and associated permits during this opportunity. Chipper Service Chipper service will be the weeks of April 2, May 7, June 4, July 2, August 6, September 3 and October 1, 2018.All items need to be on the curb and called into the Service Department before the start of brush pick up that month.  We will not add addresses once pick up has begun that month.  Place branches on tree lawn with cut end facing the street.
