May 14, 2012 - Hydrant Flushing Hydrant flushing begins the third week of May and will continue for approximately three weeks. Temporarily discolored, rusty water will occur in the vicinity of flushing. May 7, 2012 - Playground Program The Playground Program begins on Monday, June 11th. This program is for children ages 6-14, Bedford residents only. The eight week summer program will run Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.Registation will take place at Ellenwood Center on June 7-8, 2012 from 12:00 noon to 3:00 p.m. Cost is $300 per child which includes the cost of field trips. February 28, 2012 - World Changers Program Back by popular demand, the nationally acclaimed organization known as “World Changers” will be returning this July 9th to 14th to our communities to perform its “make-over magic!”Approximately 150 or more students and adult volunteers from all over the country will provide the labor to help selected residents with minor construction or exterior maintenance repair projects such as: painting the exteriors of houses, repairing roofs and gutters, step repairs and construction of handicap ramps.Although the labor is provided by the volunteers, funding will be needed to purchase the necessary materials and equipment. May 17, 2011 - Discount Prescription Drug Card Program Free program available to Bedford residents. With the discount card, there is an average savings of 20 percent on prescriptions. There is no income requirements or standards. Cards available at City Hall, banks, the library, and recreation center.
