On Wednesday May 22 at the Southeast Branch of the Cuyahoga County Public Library the Cuyahoga County Department of Sustainability and the nonprofit Solar United Neighbors are partnering with Great Lakes Brewery to present a free informational meeting for business and residential customers interested in solar power.

The meeting will take place on Wednesday May 22 at the Southeast Branch of the Cuyahoga County Public Library 70 Columbus Road, Bedford, Ohio from 6pm till 8pm.  Topics will include:

*  The history of Solar Power.
*  The 30% Federal Solar Tax Credit.
*  Typical warranties and the durability of solar panels.
*  Going Solar in historical districts.
*  Financing including Cuyahoga County’s low interest HELP Loan Program.
*  The typical cost of adding battery backup and or an electric car charging station.

Attendees will be offered the opportunity to join a buyer’s co-op for the purchase of solar panels for homes or businesses.  Cuyahoga County and Solar United Neighbors will sponsor meetings on each side of town every month until the Solar Co-op has 100 members.  Members will then solicit bids from installers throughout the Midwest and choose democratically from among those competing bids.  Consumers can realize a healthy savings by making a bulk purchase.  No one is under any obligation and Co-op members can quit at any time.
