City of Bedford – Property Maintenance Inspector – Part-time

The City of Bedford invites qualified applicants to apply for the position of part-time Property Maintenance Inspector.

Duties: Under general direction of the Building Commissioner, the Property Maintenance Inspector is responsible for Property Maintenance Code enforcement, violation resolution and management of day‐ to‐day code enforcement activities.

Daily Activities:

  1. Perform exterior/ interior inspections on structures and properties for compliance with Property Maintenance Code and Codified Ordinances of the City of Bedford.
  2. Communicate written and verbal information to residents and property owners.
  3. Represent the City of Bedford in municipal court.

Qualifications: Experience in managing nuisance abatement procedures, vacant properties, building and zoning code compliance preferred and/or work experience which evidences a thorough knowledge of property maintenance code and inspections.

Must possess a valid State of Ohio motor vehicle operator’s license. Minimum starting pay: $28.00 per hour (up to 30 hours per week/ 30 weeks per year).
