Any Bedford Ward 4 resident interested in serving as the Council member, please submit a letter of interest and a brief background of yourself to Tracy Simons, Clerk of Council, City of Bedford 165 Center Road, Bedford, OH 44146, or email tsimons@bedfordoh.gov by April 8, 2022, at 4:30 p.m.
Minimum requirements and qualifications:
- Attend all Council meetings, not limited to the regularly scheduled 1st & 3rd Mondays of every month
- Continue to be a resident of the Ward from which they were elected or appointed
- Ward resident for at least six months
- Shall be a registered voter in the Ward and remain a qualified elector
- No member of Council shall be directly or indirectly interested in any contract, job, work, or service involving the City
- Term to begin immediately upon appointment and shall serve until November 2022
- The appointee will need to run for reelection in the November 2022 and November 2023 elections to continue as Ward Representative if they so desire
- Sign a waiver for a criminal and financial background check
