Waste Water
The Ultraviolet disinfection system installation commenced on April 11, 2011 and is to be completed by December, 2011. Nerone and Sons are the Contractors.
The UV disinfections system is a replacement disinfection system for the Chlorine gas system used in years past. It will be a much safer alternative since chlorine gas and associated de-chlorination chemicals (sodium bisulfite) will no longer need to be used. Although there will be an increased electrical cost at the Waste Water Treatment Plant, it will be more than offset by the savings in chemicals.
By re-using the old micro-strainer building, additional savings will be realized in construction.
Total cost of the project is expected to be approximately $470,000.00
